University Radiology, the largest provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in NJ, is comprised of over 200 Board Certified radiologists with advanced U.S.-based training and expertise in all modalities and all subspecialty areas. In operation for more than 60 years, University Radiology staffs, manages and provides preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations and consultative support for hospitals, imaging centers and other medical facilities, and serves as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Our physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures per year.

Responsibilities

University Radiology has a unique opportunity for an MRI Steering Technologist at our Radiology Operations Command Center (ROCC) in Freehold, NJ Imaging Office. In this role, the MRI Technologist will operate the MRI scanner from Freehold, while collaborating with a technical assistant on-site at another location who will position the patients.

 

This position will be Monday - Friday from 11:30am - 8:00pm

**Eligible for 15% Shift Differential Pay**

 

Responsibilities:

  • Produce high quality MRI diagnostic images from a remote location with the help of a ROCC Tech Assistant.
  • Assure patient safety by adhering to company policies and established protocols.
  • Ensure release of patient with proper follow-up information via the ROCC Tech Assistant.
  • Produce high quality images in a timely manner while providing excellent patient care.
  • Monitor patient's well-being during scans via cameras and through feedback from ROCC Tech Assistant; recognize patient discomfort or medical problems and take appropriate action.
  • Recognize emergency situations and direct the ROCC Tech Assistant in emergency shutdown of gradient and/or main magnetic field (quench) when applicable.
  • Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients.

 

*Will be required to perform duties in or near areas containing specialized imaging equipment and must be able to adhere to all department and facility safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • ARRT(R)(MR) certification or ARMRIT
  • 3 or more years of MR work experience
  • GE and Siemens experience preferred.
  • Genuinely passionate about patient care and exercise sound judgement and an ability to remain professional in all situations
  • Able to demonstrate effective and professional communication, interpersonal skills and respect with patients, guests & colleagues
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a knack for prioritizing work with a structured approach, and enjoy solving complex problems

Pay Range:

Pay range $42 - $55

Actual compensation is based on years of MRI experience, certifications, shift differentials, and operational needs. Candidates with advanced experience may be considered for higher compensation within the posted range.
