University Radiology, the largest provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in NJ, is comprised of over 180 Board Certified radiologists with advanced U.S.-based training and expertise in all modalities and all subspecialty areas. In operation for more than 60 years, University Radiology staffs, manages and provides preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations and consultative support for hospitals, imaging centers and other medical facilities, and serves as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Our physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures per year.

Responsibilities

Overview:
The Radiology Physician Assistant (PA) supports University Radiology Group across our Central and Shore New Jersey outpatient offices including, but not limited to, 
Oakhurst, Wall, Point Pleasant, Tinton Falls, Toms River, Lacey, Freehold and Monroe.

 

This role functions as an extension of the radiologists, providing direct patient care, including consultations, follow-ups, and procedural support. The PA will also perform select fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided procedures under the supervision of an attending radiologist.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided arthrograms (large joints, e.g., knees, hips, shoulders)
  • Perform ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (FNA) of thyroid nodules
  • Assist in the management of contrast reactions
  • Prescribe pre-procedure medications as appropriate
  • Conduct pre- and post-procedure patient screening and assessment
  • Coordinate scheduling of outpatient imaging/procedures and assist with post-procedure follow-up
  • Conduct telehealth consultations for outpatient interventional radiology procedures (OBL setting)
  • Perform telehealth follow-up visits
  • Assist with documentation, including scribing reports for DEXA, thyroid ultrasound, and general ultrasound studies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirement Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • NCCPA certification required
  • Active New Jersey PA license
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Strong clinical judgment with a calm, professional, and patient-centered demeanor

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in radiology, interventional radiology, or procedural-based specialties
  • Experience with ultrasound-guided procedures and/or fluoroscopy
  • Comfort with outpatient workflows and coordination of care
  • Strong communication skills, including telehealth experience
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with radiologists and clinical staff

Pay Range:

From $140,000

Salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, qualifications, education and operational needs.
