University Radiology, the largest provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in NJ, is comprised of over 180 Board Certified radiologists with advanced U.S.-based training and expertise in all modalities and all subspecialty areas. In operation for more than 60 years, University Radiology staffs, manages and provides preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations and consultative support for hospitals, imaging centers and other medical facilities, and serves as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Our physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures per year.

Responsibilities

University Radiology has an opportunity available for an HR Generalist/Leave Specialist to work in our Human Resources Department at our Business Office located in East Brunswick, New Jersey. This is a full-time role, Monday - Friday.

 

Overview:

 

The HR Generalist/Leave Specialist will combine the broad scope of an HR Generalist with a specialized focus on interpreting and administering leave programs and policies in accordance with federal and state laws, ensuring to FMLA, NJFLA, ADA, and other relevant regulations across multiple states, especially for New Jersey. 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

Leave of Absence Administration:

  • Oversees and administers various leaves of absence, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), New Jersey Family Leave Act (NJFLA), other state-specific leave programs, and company leave programs, accommodations, as well as workers' compensation, and short-term/long-term disability.
  • Manages the leave process from initial request through return to work, including gathering documentation, determining eligibility, and coordinating communication between employees and their supervisors.
  • Writes and/or updates related leave letters, policies, and practices as necessary.
  • Maintains all work status doctor’s notes and follows up as certifications expire.
  • Manages timelines and communicates to employees any important information regarding continued eligibility for benefits and/or when coverage ends.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the return-to-work process for employees on leave, including the investigation and documentation of the interactive process between the employee and employer to determine if reasonable accommodations can be made that meet the employee’s restrictions and job skills.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to leaves of absence.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.

 

Benefits Administration:

  • Assist in annual open enrollment for the company’s benefit plans
  • Assist employees and physicians with insurance concerns throughout the year
  • Assist in implementation with insurance carrier connections and ADP Workforce Now
  • Processes employee enrollments, changes, and terminations of insurances
  • Notifies terminated employees or employees whose hours have been reduced of their entitlement to COBRA
  • Participate in other HR department projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-5 years of Human Resources experience, benefit administration a plus
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems, experience with ADP Workforce Now a plus
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Exceptional Excel skills

Pay Range:

From $60,000 annually

Salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience, education and operational needs.
