Overview

University Radiology, the largest provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in NJ, is comprised of over 180 Board Certified radiologists with advanced U.S.-based training and expertise in all modalities and all subspecialty areas. In operation for more than 60 years, University Radiology staffs, manages and provides preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations and consultative support for hospitals, imaging centers and other medical facilities, and serves as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Our physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures per year.

Responsibilities

 

The PACS Support Center Phone Operator is responsible for triaging calls that come into our PACS Department. The operator will answer calls from patients, employees, radiologists, and referring physicians and determine where the call should be transferred.

This is an entry level temporary opportunity for anyone interested in learning about radiology information systems. If the candidate is successful in this role, this position may become permanent.

The shift will be Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer and triage incoming calls to the PACS Support Center.
  • Utilize a digital switchboard to route calls to the appropriate PACS staff or other departments.
  • Provide clear and effective communication with callers to understand and address their needs.
  • Maintain a professional and patient demeanor while handling a high volume of calls.
  • Assist callers with basic information about IT support services and escalate issues as needed.
  • Record and log call details accurately into the system for tracking and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with IT staff and other departments to ensure seamless communication and support.
  • Stay updated with company policies, procedures, training and IT systems to provide accurate information.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in IT or related fields is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a call center or customer service role, preferably in an IT support environment.
  • Working knowledge of computers, information systems, and digital switchboards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
