University Radiology, the largest provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in NJ, is comprised of over 180 Board Certified radiologists with advanced U.S.-based training and expertise in all modalities and all subspecialty areas. In operation for more than 60 years, University Radiology staffs, manages and provides preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations and consultative support for hospitals, imaging centers and other medical facilities, and serves as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Our physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures per year.

Responsibilities

University Radiology is looking for a full-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist for our New Brunswick, NJ Imaging Office.

 

Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm

 

UNDER THE DIRECTION of the Radiologist, Clinical Coordinator, Administrator or Department Supervisor, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist shall perform examinations on selected portions of the anatomy using radiopharmaceuticals as requested by the clinician.  The technologist is expected to perform a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain a quality diagnostic study.

  • Identifies the type of scan required by physician’s order to achieve desired results
  • Calculates, prepares and injects the appropriate dosage of radionuclide material
  • Operates all nuclear medicine equipment to acquire high quality diagnostic images on patients of all ages
  • Has a capable knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the procedures performed
  • Maintains knowledge of procedure protocols to produce the required views and assists the radiologist in performing procedures as necessary
  • Obtains pertinent clinical information, reads physician referral and follows special physician requests if noted on prescription or referral
  • Knows the application and location of the supply items in the department
  • Capable of accessing information from office computer systems including reports, image location and patient history, appointment and registration.
  • Documents pertinent patient information including verbal report, fax report, deliver films, patient signature on required consent form for procedure and accurate billing and ICD10
  • Performs other tasks as necessary to include, but not limited to, stocking, quality control procedures and documentation
  • Assures appropriate licenses are current and that copies are available to this office by Jan 31 of the renewal year. Documentation of renewal application will be accepted in lieu of delay from governing body.  Failure to produce a license will result in suspension from work without pay until license is available
  • Maintain certification in CPR, required CEU’s and complete all mandatory URG in-services

 

Qualifications

  • Must hold certification and be in good standing with ARRT (N) or NMTCB
  • Minimum 2 years hospital experience
